Assembly Committee on Ways and Means

The Assembly Committee on Ways and Means will hear AB422.

AB422 contains many provisions, including:

​

• Moving control of the medical marijuana program from the Department of Health and Human Services to the Department of Taxation.

• Places dispensaries in control of adding patients and caregivers to the medical marijuana registry.

• Removes most background checks on medical marijuana registry applicants.

We strongly oppose this bill.  It would greatly increase the potential for abuse of the medical marijuana program, including resale of medical marijuana to minors, predatory prescription by "marijuana mills" and black market activity.
